"Still powered by the 45-cubic-inch flathead V-twin introduced in 1952 the KR was capable of winning races well into the Sixties. Specifications of the flathead would seem to leave it hopelessly ill-equipped for competition, but the KR defied the odds, and experienced riders continued to end up in the winner's circle until the British machines eventually conquered the dirt tracks in the late Sixties.
