Mike Mendoza's XLCR Land Speed Record Run.
______________________________________________________________________________
Mike Mendoza of Mez racing set a land speed record in the 1000/P/PG category in 1998 on his Harley Davidson XLCR 1000 of 119.063 MPH. (he's gone faster since then) Mike is officially listed as the Owner, Rider, Crew Chief and Crew of his bike "Tina Maria". As far as I have been able to determine his only sponsor was Mez Racing which as I understand it is Mike's company. Talk about a one man show. I now have some pictures of his run which you will find below. Mike took time out of his busy life to send these to me so we could all have a look. THANKS MIKE!!!! Ok, on to the pics.

I told you he's gone faster since 1998. Need proof? Here it is.
Muroc, 1999. 136 MPH. The writing on the picture says it all.
Muroc, still 1999. 137 MPH this time. Once again, the writing on the pic says it all.

Yes, as I understand it these are the same bike. I can't decide which I like better, clean and pristine or lean and mean.
Stripped down for maintenance. A good look at the powerplant.
