It is only fair to note that another source indicates that this monster put out 70 ft/lbs. of torque at 4400 rpm. I will try to find out which is correct. It is possible that both are correct. After all this bike did have many factory add-ons that could seriously change the horsepower and torque. As I understand it with these add-ons an XR-1000 could be taken all the way up to 90 horse power for street legal and 95 horsepower for track only with FACTORY add ons!
